Dr. Paul German is a board-certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon with over 25 years of experience, proudly serving patients in Ellicott City, Maryland, and surrounding areas. Licensed in the state of Maryland, Dr. German has built a reputation for providing expert surgical care with a personal touch.
A Baltimore native, Dr. German graduated from Calvert Hall College High School and continued his education at the University of Maryland, where he earned both his undergraduate and Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degrees. He completed his intensive oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at Wayne State University/Detroit Receiving Medical Center in Detroit, Michigan, gaining advanced surgical training in complex oral and facial procedures.
Dr. German served as the Section Chief of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Howard County General Hospital – Johns Hopkins Medicine for over 20 years. He is also an active faculty member and instructor for the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Program at the University of Maryland Medical System/Shock Trauma Center, where he mentors future surgeons in one of the nation's leading trauma hospitals.
A respected leader in his field, Dr. German is a past president of both the Maryland Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the Howard County Dental Association. He is also an active member of professional organizations including:
- American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS)
- Maryland Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons
- Mid-Atlantic Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons
- American Dental Association (ADA)

Dr. German lives in western Howard County with his wife and two daughters. Outside the office, he enjoys spending time with his family and is a lifelong, loyal fan of Baltimore football and Orioles baseball.
